Setter | Captain | Leadership & Game IQ Specialist

Amaya Parnell joins the Cayuga Cascade as Head Coach, bringing elite-level playing experience and a passion for developing young athletes at every stage of the game.

A setter and captain at Ithaca College, Amaya was named the 2023 Boston Globe Massachusetts Division I Athlete of the Year, was a two-time Boston Globe All-Scholastic selection, and has competed five times at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships. She brings nearly a decade of coaching experience to the Cascade and is currently studying Race, Power & Resistance and Sociology at Ithaca College.

As a setter and captain, Amaya specializes in decision-making and tempo, leadership development, court vision, offensive systems, and setter training. Her experience running offenses and coaching younger athletes makes her an ideal fit for developing both our boys and girls programs: from foundational U12 skills to advanced high school-level play.
